For assessment of visual acuity in older or less handicapped children we utilize LEA Symbols Test for near and distance. To familiarize children with symbols and test situation firs they play with a 3-D puzzle. The children learn to recognize shapes since "the ability to recognize form is essential for optotype acuity. This type of acuity results not only from the resolution of the visual system, but also from visual perception".

METHODS
